Eating Out
Winchcombe, as well as being an interesting old town able to trace its origins back to Saxon times, is host to a number of excellent places to eat. It is just over 1 mile from Westward, at the foot of Sudeley Hill and just beyond Sudeley Castle.
Restaurants in Winchcombe
- Restaurant 5 North Street is a small restaurant run by Gus Ashenford and his wife Kate. Gus has been the owner/chef since 2003, and has been awarded a coveted Michelin Star every year since 2004. Providing superb food and excellent value, reviews of the restaurant are consistently outstanding.
- Wesley House is a larger restaurant, located within a medieval building in the town centre. Well established and admirably consistent, it too secures a very high recommendation in the Michelin Guide.
- The White Hart. The restaurant here, called the Wine & Sausage, is located within the old coaching inn next door to Wesley House. Food is simple and delicious, with local produce a central theme and numerous varieties of sausages being the signature feature.
Winchcombe also has three pubs providing food, a very good Bangladeshi restaurant and a bar and grill restaurant, which is part of Wesley House
