Sudeley Lodge was built in 1730 as the hunting lodge of Sudeley Castle. After the castle was destroyed by Cromwell in the civil war, many noted guests visited the lodge, including George III.
The house sits in a glorious valley on the Cotswold escarpment alone in its 550 acre estate with views across the Sudeley valley and over the castle to Winchcombe and beyond. It has a wonderful garden including a small green house with orchids and an ornamental pond. There are acres of woodland on the farm, from which you can start walks through the valley and beyond. The farm is mainly pasture supporting Jacob, Suffolk and Grey face sheep and horses. There is also a lake.
Jim was brought up here and the family returned to share the family home in 1995. They delight in sharing their truly English and relaxed home with their visitors. It was once described as being a mixture of elegance and family clutter. It is very much a family home with three teenage children and many animals.
It is a very peaceful place in an Idyllic setting.
You can sit by the log fire in the winter or watch the lambs with a glass of wine from the terrace in the spring.
